Birmingham’s connection to Black music has always been prolific - From the emergence of Reggae and Ska to the fusion of Caribbean sounds with British punk in the 1970s - 0121 has been a melting pot of musical influences. Its vibrant club scene has played a pivotal role in promoting genres such as Jungle, Drum and Bass, UK Garage, and Grime, providing platforms for emerging Black artists to showcase their talents and push cultural boundaries.
